Patient Care Coordinator

No previous medical experienceis required for this position. A Medical Office Assistant diploma would be an asset, but is not required.

Dominion Medical Centres is hiring one full time Patient Care Coordinator for our South Edmonton location(s).

The Individual

We are looking for an extraordinary individual who has experience working in a medical, retail, call centre or office environment. As the face of the company, the individual will become part of a team that is essential in providing outstanding patient-centred care. The candidate should possess superior customer service as well as excellent communication and listening skills. The ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment is crucial.

The Position

Located at our reception desk, the Patient Care Coordinator is the key connection between patients and physicians. The position requires the management of a high volume of phone calls, scheduling appointments, patient/clinic communication and a variety of other administrative office tasks. The Patient Care Coordinator ensures the efficient, professional operation of the clinic. Areas of responsibility include:

  • Greeting patients as the enter the clinic
  • Answering incoming phone calls
  • Processing incoming documents and accurately indexing them to patient files
  • Utilization of our Using Electronic Medical Record software
  • Performing a variety of general administrative tasks
